What is a banner?
A banner is a graphic element ( generally rectangular) present in the Web pages. It often advertizes another site, of whom it represents also the link. Banners can be static, animated and rotating. The rotating banner shows different banners, from different sites, during the page display. The advertising banner often represents the profit source for the site administrator. There are also some agreements among site administrators, that provide for the free banner exchange, that is one administrator can display the banner of the other one so that the visits to the site could increase. Banners can be created in different sizes, small or big ones; a very common size is 468x60 pixels.
What is a banner exchange?
A banner exchange circuit allows the registered sites to exchange advertisements. Every site exposes a 468x60 banner on its pages in which banners from other sites rotate. In this way, the more a site makes a banner rotate, the more it gains exposures of its banner, and so it could have more potential visitors.

The exchange ratio is one to one, and it means that for every banner displayed on your site you will obtain an exposure. Moreover, every time someone clicks a registered banner on your pages, you will automatically gain 100 exposures.

Who can register?
Whoever has a web site and wants to promote it or increase visits can register. The number of visitors before the registration is of no importance. Both private and firms can register.

How can I insert the HTML code?
First of all you have to copy the code that you can find when you enter in your area. Select the code, use CTRL+C or the right mouse key on the selected part and then 'Copy'.
If you use Notepad: choose the part in which you want to insert the code, use the right mouse key and then 'Paste' (or CTRL+V).
If you use Frontpage: copy the code that you can find when you enter in your area, open frontpage and click on the menu 'Modify' and select 'Paste special'. In the window opened you have to tick off 'Process as HTML text'.

You can set the banner everywhere in your site.
It would be better to choose a visible area because every time someone click a registered banner in your site, you will automatically gain 100 more exposures.
Can I put more than one banner in a page?
Yes, the limit per page is 5 banners. In any case, it would be better not to exceed.
I don’t have a banner, how can I register?
If you don’t have already a banner you can register anyway (so that you could start to gain exposures). Afterwards, when you have a banner, you can insert it by accessing to your area.
How can I load the banner?
You can load the banner in 2 different ways:
- if the banner has already been published online you only have to copy the image address in your private area field;
- you can load directly on our Web space through your private area.
What is the dimension of a banner?
The banner must have the standard dimensions, that is 468 pixels in breadth and 60 pixels in depth.
What kind of formats are accepted for banners?
These are the accepted formats for banners: JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP and SWF (*).
(*): we are working in order to support also the Flash (SWF) format.
What is the biggest size of a banner?
We accept all the banners with a size lower than 40KB.
Some exceptions are possible. In this case you have to use the module 'Contact us'.
